FC TVMK was an Estonian football club. The club won the Estonian Meistriliiga in 2005 and also secured multiple Estonian Cup titles.
History
FC TVMK began in 1951, competing in local leagues until 1986, when it joined the Jõgeva III division and earned promotion to the II liiga that same year. By 1988, the club had climbed to the top tier of the Estonian SSR Football Championship, a league separate from the Soviet Union's system. TVMK claimed the Estonian SSR title in both 1990 and 1991, and when an independent Estonian league launched in 1992, the club became a founding member under the name TVMV.
After the 1992 season, financial troubles at TVMV's parent company—the TVMK plywood factory—threatened the club's survival, but a sponsorship from the transport firm Nikol AS kept it afloat. For the 1992-93 and 1993-94 campaigns, the team played as FC Nikol and earned bronze medals in the Meistriliiga both years. Just before the 1993-94 season ended, the newly formed FC Tevalte was expelled from the league for match-fixing. Its owner, Sergei Belov, challenged the disqualification but eventually created a new club based on FC Nikol, called FC Lantana-Marlekor.
Although Lantana-Marlekor used FC Nikol's Meistriliiga license and referenced Marlekor AS—the company that privatized the TVMK factory—in its name, the squad was largely built from former FC Tevalte players and coached by Belov's father. Most of the original TVMK and FC Nikol players, including player-coach Vjatseslav Smirnov, departed during this shift.
