Reader's Guide
Thanos sets out to collect all six to wipe out half of all life in the universe, believing this will save it from extinction. In 2018 he snaps his fingers wearing the Infinity Gauntlet with the Stones in it, causing the Blip, and later destroys the Stones. Five years on, the surviving Avengers travel back in time to collect the Stones from other periods and undo the snap; afterwards Steve Rogers returns each Stone to the moment it was taken from.
