Background

He also lends his voice without appearing on screen, as in The Aviator and The Wolf of Wall Street. In The Age of Innocence he plays a non-speaking portrait photographer, in Raging Bull he is the off-screen dressing-room attendant in the final scene, and in Bringing Out the Dead he voices the unseen ambulance dispatcher. In Boxcar Bertha he appears as one of Bertha's clients during the brothel montage. Outside his own films he played the director of a newly formed Vatican Television in the Italian comedy In the Pope's Eye, and himself in the first episode of the TV series The Studio.
