Scarecrow (2013 film)

Plot

A couple named Chad and Marcy, both teenagers, head to a cornfield planning to prank their friends Tyler and Nikki, who had posted embarrassing pictures of them online. Inside an old barn, they crash through the floor.

Marcy gets a deep gash on her thigh, and Chad moves to help her. Blood from her wound soaks into the ground beneath her, and something shifting in the shadows startles her. A huge hand reaches from behind Chad, grabs his head, and kills him while Marcy screams in terror.

Later, high school teacher Aaron Harris brings six students—Calvin, Daevon, Nikki, Tyler, Maria, and Beth—to the same abandoned cornfield. They are supposed to collect a scarecrow for the 100th annual Scarecrow festival. Nikki and Tyler explain that a local legend says thirty people who once lived there all died.

Tyler recites a chant: "It never sleeps, it never dies, it can't be stopped, hear their cries. The Scarecrow lives to kill us all. Keep it buried in the fall..."

When the bus arrives, Aaron spots his ex-girlfriend Kristen Miller and steps out to speak with her. While they talk, Nikki grabs the keys left in the ignition, retrieves her phone that Aaron had confiscated earlier. Kristen tells Aaron she also invited Eddie, Aaron's former best friend who used to date Kristen. Eddie shows up, sees Aaron, and tries to drive away, but his truck won't start.

Meanwhile, the students head toward the scarecrow. Aaron, Kristen, and Eddie catch up to find Calvin tied to the scarecrow. Nikki and Tyler have vanished.

As Kristen, Eddie, and Daevon work to free Calvin, an unseen force grabs Beth and drags her into the cornfield. Aaron orders Maria, Calvin, and Daevon to stay put while he, Kristen, and Eddie go after Beth. Calvin panics and runs off. Kristen finds Beth alive, but then Kristen herself gets pulled away.

After she is freed, the whole group flees to a nearby deserted farmhouse. Something pounds against the door, and they struggle to hold it shut. Suddenly, Nikki's body, throat slashed, is hurled over the windowsill before being yanked back outside.
