Plot

A secret research lab called Universal Bio Tech was trying to make horned vipers more dangerous by giving them a poison called C12, hoping their venom could cure diseases. The enhanced venom did successfully cure one woman of breast cancer, but the snakes also killed four people.

A man named Jon Staffin, working with his own team, overpowered the lab staff to steal the snakes. During the fight, the snakes escaped and killed everyone except Staffin, who got away. After that, the snakes started breeding quickly.

On an island called Eden Cove, a couple was killed on a beach. Meanwhile, a policeman named Cal Taylor went to visit Doc Jim Silverton. Sheriff Tom Hendricks later called Doc to say that a teenager named Maggie had broken into a store to smoke marijuana.

Doc and Cal went to check the store’s hidden marijuana garden. Outside, a snake bit a child named Jake. At a clinic, Cal gave Jake antivenom, which stabilized him.

The store owner, Nicky, was jailed for growing marijuana. Dr. Vera Collins, who worked for Universal Bio Tech, said she needed to examine Jake’s bite to see if it came from one of their vipers. Burton, the CEO, introduced Staffin as his security chief and sent his team out with Vera.

At his inn, Maggie’s father Jack had sex with a woman named Georgie. The vipers later killed Georgie. Using tools Cal had accidentally left behind, Nicky escaped from jail and went to the inn. There, Cal saved Nicky from a viper.

After finding vipers nearby, Tom told everyone to run to the inn, but Maggie ran in the wrong direction. The snakes got into the lobby, but Cal scared them away with a fire extinguisher. Jack’s estranged wife Ellie left to find Maggie, her daughter. Ellie found Maggie, but they were soon surrounded.

Tom rescued Maggie and locked her in a safe room at his office. The snakes killed Tom, and Jack saved Ellie. They were cornered outside the office, but Cal and Nicky used the extinguisher to keep the snakes back while everyone hid in a broken van.

Cal got bitten. They entered a café, where Ellie was killed. The rest barricaded themselves inside using ice, figuring the snakes did not like the cold. On the way to the inn, Doc, Staffin, and Vera used grenades filled with C12 to calm the snakes, though the snakes killed one of Burton’s men. Jack took Maggie, Nicky, and Cal to the inn.
