The series takes place in the magical land of Kaleidoscopia and focuses on seven nine-year-old girls—Rosie Redd, Mandarin Orange, Anna Banana, Pepper Mintz, Bonnie Blueberry, Indigo Allfruit, and Lavender LaViolette—each representing a color of the rainbow. They use their individual powers, such as superhuman strength, music power, animal communication, invisibility, telescopic vision, super speed, and shrinking with flight, to help protect citizens and clean the planet. Each episode begins with a nature problem on Earth, signaled by a rainbow sent to Kaleidoscopia, where the leader Kalia selects three rangers for the mission, often accompanied by the pet Prismacorn Floof.

The main antagonist is Preston Praxton, an entrepreneur obsessed with money who schemes without regard for environmental impact. His daughter Patty Praxton often serves as his voice of reason, and in season 2, his sister Priscilla Praxton debuts as a competitor. The series was renewed for a second season, with 13 episodes premiering on October 6, 2019, and another 13 on October 11, 2020. The show’s final episodes aired on April 15, 2022.
