Mats Simon Hjalmarsson is a Swedish professional ice hockey forward. He was selected 39th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2007 NHL entry draft. He currently plays for Vaasan Sport in the Finnish Liiga.

Playing career
In the 2006–07 season, Hjalmarsson played for Frölunda HC in the J20 SuperElit league and Gislaveds SK in Division I. He scored 54 points in 41 games in the Swedish U20 league. On June 4, 2014, he signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets. After attending training camp, he was reassigned to the Springfield Falcons on October 3, 2014. He was placed on unconditional waivers to mutually terminate his contract. On October 15, 2014, his rights were traded by HC Sibir Novosibirsk to CSKA Moscow. He signed a two-year contract with CSKA Moscow on October 28, 2014. Hjalmarsson returned to Sweden after the 2015–16 season, signing a second time with Frölunda HC of the SHL.
