The club was founded in 1884 as Leicester Fosse F.C., before becoming Leicester City in 1919, coinciding with Leicester gaining city status. They moved to Filbert Street in 1891, were elected to the Football League in 1894, and moved to the Walkers Stadium in 2002, renamed King Power Stadium in 2011. Leicester have won five major trophies: one Premier League, one FA Cup, and three League Cups. Their 2015–16 Premier League title win attracted global attention. The club's longest top-level spell was 1954–55 to 1968–69, during which they reached three FA Cup finals and competed in Europe for the first time. They have since participated in six more European campaigns and two FA Cup finals, reaching the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals in 2016–17, winning the FA Cup in 2021, and reaching the UEFA Europa Conference League semi-finals in 2021–22.
