The Spirit Realm
Where Oogway ascends and Kai is banished.
The Spirit Realm is the realm where Oogway goes in Kung Fu Panda (2008): after naming Shifu his successor, he ascends to it. In Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016) it is where Oogway and the other deceased kung fu masters are found.
Lore & Background
Long before the films, Oogway banished Kai to the Spirit Realm for taking chi from others. Kung Fu Panda 3 opens there, with Kai fighting Oogway and taking his chi after stealing that of every other deceased master. Po plans to send Kai back with the Wuxi Finger Hold and finally does so by using it on himself, carrying both of them into the Spirit Realm, where Li and the others send him their chi and restore his strength.
