Lausitzer Füchse

The Lausitzer Füchse, which translates to "Lusatian Foxes" (Upper Sorbian: Łužiske liški), are an ice hockey club from Weißwasser, Saxony. They compete in DEL2, Germany’s second-tier ice hockey league. Before the 2013–14 season, they were part of the 2nd Bundesliga. Their junior U23 team, ES Weißwasser, plays in the Regionalliga East.
Founded in 1932, the team is best known for its period as SG Dynamo Weißwasser, when it dominated the East German league, winning over 25 championships. The club was linked to SV Dynamo, the sports organization for East Germany’s police, state security, and customs services. Following German reunification, the team struggled, facing financial difficulties and relegations.
After the 2006–07 season, they secured their place in the 2nd Bundesliga by defeating Dresdner Eislöwen 4–2 in a best-of-seven play-down series, sending the Eislöwen to the Oberliga for 2007–08. Since the 2008–09 season in the second division, they have qualified for the playoffs or pre-playoffs six times.
Honours include 25 East German ice hockey championships: 1951–1965, 1969–1975, 1981, 1989, and 1990.
