The EHL Wolves originated in 2005 as the Ice Hockey Committee, founded by Rodrigue Benoit, a chef at EHL and former European Hockey League player, along with Chris Norton, former EHL Marketing Director and NHL player. The team adopted the name 'EHL Wolves' in 2010, the same year they won their first championship by defeating the University of Lausanne (UNIL) in the Junior Elite League. A perfect season with no losses followed in the 2011–2012 season, and they won the Junior Elite League a second time in 2012.

After a period of roster changes and a drop in rankings, the Wolves won a third championship on November 3, 2021, defeating HC Montchoisi 6–3. In 2023, under chairman Yanick Gujer, the committee underwent a complete restructuring and adopted the slogan 'Unleash the Howl, Dominate the Ice ! EHL Wolves'. Corentin d'Autheville became president in September 2024, and the team now consists exclusively of 25 EHL students. The club's logo features a gray wolf, symbolizing the esprit de corps of the school.
