Silver, Johnny Cash's 1979 Columbia Records release, marked his 25th anniversary as a recording artist and reached number 28 on the country albums chart. Producer Brian Ahern's use of digital sounds upset some fans. It was the last Cash album featuring bassist Marshall Grant of the Tennessee Two.
