Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad, an American adaptation of Gridman, aired from September 1994 to April 1995 in syndication. Produced by Tsuburaya, Ultracom, and DiC Entertainment, it starred Matthew Lawrence as Sam Collins/Servo and Tim Curry as the voice of Kilokahn. The series followed a rock band named Team Samurai fighting evil Mega Virus monsters in the Digital World. Due to Tsuburaya's direct involvement, the adaptation remained largely faithful to the original, retaining sound effects, character traits, plot points, and certain names.

In 2015, Studio Trigger produced an animated short for the Japan Animator Expo titled Denkou Choujin Gridman: boys invent great hero, directed by Akira Amemiya. Set 22 years after Gridman's final battle with Khan Digifer, it features Takeshi Todo transforming into Gridman Sigma using the Acceptor.

At Anime Expo 2017, Akira Amemiya, Studio Trigger, and Tsuburaya announced SSSS.GRIDMAN, an original anime series incorporating elements from both the original Gridman and its western adaptation, which aired in 2018. A sequel, SSSS.Dynazenon, followed in 2021, and a crossover film, Gridman Universe, was released in 2023. Hikaru Midorikawa reprised his role as Gridman for the first anime and the crossover film.
