Otherside Picnic
A yuri sci-fi series about exploring a dangerous alternate world.
Last updated
College student Sorawo Kamikoshi discovers a door to the Otherside, a world of monsters from internet creepypasta and urban legends.[1] She is rescued by Toriko Nishina, and together they return to the Otherside for artifacts and payments from a researcher named Kozakura.[1] The series combines yuri, science fiction, and psychological horror, focusing on a relationship built on crime and survival rather than romantic slice-of-life.[2]

What the cited sources add
Constance Sarantos of CBR wrote that the series breaks yuri genre molds by avoiding common stereotypes and creating a unique narrative.[6] Hannah Alton of CBR argued the series stands apart from typical isekai because the protagonists can move freely between worlds and face monsters that require direct eye contact to kill.[7] Jordan Ramée of GameSpot praised the anime for featuring adult protagonists, a rarity in most anime.[8]
