Shoma is a human-Granute hybrid and the youngest child of the Stomach Family, a powerful family in the Granute World that profits from addictive Dark Treats made from humans. After his father Bouche dies and his brother Lango takes over, Shoma escapes to Earth following his mother's murder. There, he learns that modifications commissioned by his father allow him to produce Gochizo, which he uses to become Kamen Rider Gavv. Adopting his mother's surname, Shoma struggles to prevent humans from being kidnapped and processed into Dark Treats, putting him at odds with his half-siblings; his sister Siita is the first to fall.

Reader's Guide

Kamen Rider Gavv marks the sixth series to debut during the Reiwa period and the first to center on a snack motif, a creative departure from previous themes. The narrative intensifies with the Jaldak family's corporate takeover, Dente's murder by his sister Glotta, and the revelation that candy shop owner Masaru is Shoma's maternal uncle. In the climax, Stomach Inc. is devastated, the interdimensional gates are destroyed, and three months later Shoma works on Light Treats to aid still-addicted part-timers.
