The series follows the Search Guard Successor Foundation (SGS), which collects powerful relics known as Precious with help from the eponymous Boukengers. The team is led by Mister Voice, who serves as a liaison to the main SGS headquarters, and assisted by Morio Makino, the technical specialist and creator of the Boukengers' GoGo Vehicle mecha. The primary members are Satoru Akashi (Bouken Red), Masumi Inou (Bouken Black), Souta Mogami (Bouken Blue), Natsuki Mamiya (Bouken Yellow), and Sakura Nishihori (Bouken Pink), each with personal GoGo Vehicles and specialized weapons. A sixth member, Eiji Takaoka (Bouken Silver), joins later as a half-Ashu warrior.

The World of the Precious

To prevent such a catastrophe, the Search Guard Successor Foundation, known simply as SGS, assembles a dedicated special-operations unit: the Boukengers. Their singular mission is to locate, secure, and protect each Precious before the syndicates can lay claim to them. Day-to-day operations are overseen by Mister Voice, who acts as the liaison between the field team and SGS's main headquarters, while Morio Makino handles the technical side, designing the GoGo Vehicle mecha that form the backbone of the team's heavy combat capability. The world also teems with allies and enigmatic figures: Satoru's former expedition partners Kyoko and Shiro Masaki, the Phantom Thief Selene who hunts treasures linked to the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter and may be Princess Kaguya herself, and the Water Metropolis elder Magi, whose apprentice Ragi sacrificed his very humanity to survive without water in his quest to restore his people's lost city.

The Six Adventurers

Each of the six Boukengers carries a distinct personality and personal stake in the conflict. Satoru Akashi, the steady leader, channels a quiet inner fire as Bouken Red and primarily confronts the antagonist Ryuuwon. Masumi Inou fights as Bouken Black largely to repay a life-debt owed to Satoru, while also pursuing a personal vendetta against the Dark Shadow operative Yaiba of Darkness. Souta Mogami, the team's information specialist, goes head-to-head with Shizuka of the Wind as Bouken Blue. Natsuki Mamiya, the group's most playful member, adventures to uncover her own history and is ultimately revealed as Lilina, the last surviving member of the ancient Lemurian civilization. Sakura Nishihori projects a cold, duty-bound exterior as Bouken Pink, yet her care for her teammates runs deep. Rounding out the team, Eiji Takaoka—half-Ashu through his father Karato's union with the Ashu woman Kei—brings the greatest spiritual strength to the group. He battles the enigmatic Gai with a bitter personal history and, in the crossover film GoGo Sentai Boukenger vs. Super Sentai, embodies the Spirit of Hope.

Arsenal & GoGo Vehicle System

Beyond their individual weapons, the Boukengers share a unified combat toolkit. Every primary member transforms via an Accellular cellphone and carries a Survi-Buster handgun that can be reconfigured into the Survi-Blade sword. A multipurpose Scope Shot device pairs with the Survi-Buster to unlock a long-range Sniper Mode, adding tactical versatility to close-quarters fighting. For heavier engagements, any team member can don the Accel Tector armor and wield the Dual Crusher, a dual-mode weapon that switches between a Mixer Head and a Drill Head. The true centerpiece of the series' mechanical design, however, is the GoGo Vehicle system. Each adventurer commands three personal vehicles—ranging from Satoru's GoGo Dump, GoGo Jet, and GoGo Commander to Natsuki's GoGo Dozer, GoGo Drill, and GoGo Attacker—that combine into the GoGo Vehicle mecha.
