Career
During most of his Busch Series tenure, Ingram drove the Skoal Bandit car from 1984 to 1991 and almost always raced the No. 11 car. In 1986, he was suspended for two races by NASCAR after ramming a driver at New Asheville Speedway in Asheville, North Carolina. Ingram began his career at that same speedway, where he became a marquee driver alongside rival Bob Pressley. After retiring from the Busch Series in 1991, he held the series record for most wins until Mark Martin broke it in 1997; as of August 17, 2019, he ranked sixth in career wins. Before the Busch Series began in 1982, Ingram won three consecutive Late Model Sportsman Championships in 1972, 1973, and 1974.
