David Ullström

Playing career

Ullström signed a three-year entry-level contract with the New York Islanders on June 1, 2010. He recorded his first NHL point on November 29, 2011, with an assist on Brian Rolston's third-period goal in a 2–1 win over the Buffalo Sabres. On December 6, 2011, he scored his first NHL goal against Mathieu Garon of the Tampa Bay Lightning. On June 18, 2013, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl signed Ullström for the 2013–14 season. After scoring three goals in 18 games with Lokomotiv, he transferred to HC Lev Praha for the remainder of the campaign, helping the club reach the Gagarin Cup finals. On June 25, 2014, he opted to remain in the KHL, signing a two-year deal with Severstal Cherepovets. On May 15, 2018, Ullström returned to the NHL on a one-year, two-way contract with the Arizona Coyotes. He began the 2018–19 season on injured reserve and was later assigned to AHL affiliate Tucson Roadrunners, where he recorded 10 goals and 23 points in 29 games. Unable to break into the NHL, he returned to Europe on May 30, 2019, signing with Dinamo Riga of the KHL. On January 11, 2021, he was traded along with Valentin Nüssbaumer to HC Davos in exchange for Luca Hischier and Perttu Lindgren. For the 2022–23 season, he signed a one-year contract with Schwenninger Wild Wings of the DEL, appearing in 17 regular season games and contributing five points. He left the club at the conclusion of his contract on March 9, 2022.
