Herta Space Station

The site where the Trailblazer awakens and the first battle against the Antimatter Legion begins.

The Herta Space Station serves as the opening setting for Honkai: Star Rail, established by Herta to conduct vast scientific experiments. It acts as a critical waypoint where the Astral Express crew—consisting of Himeko, Welt, March 7th, and Dan Heng—arrives to investigate an attack by the Antimatter Legion. The station is not merely a backdrop but the site where the main character, the Trailblazer, awakens with no memory after being implanted with a Stellaron by the Stellaron Hunters, Kafka and Silver Wolf, who had already implanted the Stellaron into the Trailblazer before the Antimatter Legion attack. This facility represents a hub of innovation where humanity and non-human beings study cosmic phenomena under the direction of Herta, who rarely appears in person.

Lore & Background

Within this science-fantasy universe, the station is the stage for a pivotal event: an assault by the Antimatter Legion, followers of the Aeon Nanook who control the Path of Destruction. Prior to this chaos, members of the Stellaron Hunters, specifically Kafka and Silver Wolf, had already implanted a Stellaron—an object known as the 'Cancer of All Worlds'—into a blank vessel provided by the Stellaron Hunters. This vessel awakens as the amnesiac Trailblazer after Kafka wipes their memories. The facility is also where the Astral Express crew, known as the Nameless, arrives as visitors to respond to the crisis.

Reader's Guide

Visiting the Herta Space Station involves navigating the aftermath of an Antimatter Legion attack. Players control the Trailblazer immediately after memory loss, guided by March 7th and Dan Heng. The station serves as the tutorial zone where players learn turn-based combat mechanics, building a lineup of up to four characters with specific Paths like Preservation or Destruction. It is here that the concept of Light Cones and Relics is introduced, alongside the use of Traces for unique abilities.

Did You Know?

The Trailblazer's first rescuers at the station were Arlan and Asta, the station's security personnel, who discovered them after the Stellaron implantation.
