Plot
A passenger called Pony hires a taxi driver known as Map King to guide him and his truck to Sun Moon Village. Map King is reluctant because the journey takes six hours, but accepts when Pony offers two thousand dollars. Map King leads in his taxi while Pony follows in his truck, and they communicate by radio. Pony asks about the Chun Lei Restaurant, and Map King describes the village as very poor. He recalls that the restaurant's original owner left it to his older daughter Fong and her portly son, while the younger daughter Lian inherited the chicken coops. Thirty years earlier, four escaped convicts arrived at the restaurant carrying a case of gold and said they would stay the night. Fong's husband had recently died, and this was the seventh night, when the spirit of the deceased is believed to return. She lit a trail of candles to guide the way. The convicts began arguing when one of them, Chan Keung, was believed to have interfered with Fong. They started shooting at each other, and Chan Keung appeared to become possessed and shot himself in the genitals. The restaurant caught fire and burned down. Map King and Pony stop for food after Map King gets two flat tires. Pony expresses disbelief at the story and asks whether Fong and her son survived, but Map King does not answer. Pony then rides with Map King in the truck and claims to know the truth about what happened to Fong and her son. The bandits arrive at the restaurant, though their leader has an eye injury. The convicts grow suspicious of each other and tell Fong they will stay the night. Fong is defiant and tells them to leave, but they strike her. While cooking, Fong attempts to seduce a convict called Chicken to learn how much money is in the suitcase and suggests they split the loot. The leader argues with Fong, prompting Chan Keung to pull a gun on her, after which Chicken pulls a gun on Chan Keung. Fong leaves the room, and the men withdraw their guns. The leader tells Chan to take care of Fong, and Chan goes upstairs. Chan and Fong turn out to be lovers. Chicken goes upstairs and sees them embracing. Chicken is shot and his body rolls downstairs. The leader and Bo are shot. Fong then retrieves the suitcase, which is chained to the leader's wrist, and cuts his wrist off while he is still alive.
