Life and work
She told Bild in 2013 that she was terrified of him ninety-nine percent of the time and that the family lived in constant terror.[3][4] In 1976, while still a teenager, she played Sina Wolf in Wolfgang Petersen's Tatort episode Reifezeugnis and Catherine Beddows in the horror film To the Devil a Daughter.[5] Kinski met director Roman Polanski at a party in 1976, and he urged her to study method acting with Lee Strasberg in the United States.[6][7] After the divorce, Kinski's mother, who was quite young, faced financial hardship and ultimately they ended up residing in a Munich commune.[8]
Lisa Kreuzer, an actress, assisted Kinski in securing the part of the silent Mignon in Wim Wenders' 1975 movie The Wrong Move; at thirteen years old, Kinski appeared without a top in that film.[2] After Kinski had campaigned for many years, Wim Wenders in June 2026 consented to pull Wrong Move from circulation and expressed regret to her for the "sexualised" footage.[9]
What the cited sources add
The Guardian also states that Kinski was wonderful as Tess, describing her as "the child-woman, governed by a child's intuition"[7] The Bild interview quotes Kinski saying she would do anything to put her father behind bars for life and that she is glad he is no longer alive.[4] The Curtis article states that Polanski began dating Kinski when she was 15.[10]
