Life and work

She began performing in church at age six and started playing a homemade guitar at seven.[4] She signed with Monument Records at age 19 in 1965, where the label initially resisted her desire to record country material.[5] In 1967, Porter Wagoner invited Parton to join his syndicated television program and road show.[6] When she was ten years old, Parton performed on Knoxville's WIVK Radio and WBIR-TV as part of The Cas Walker Show.[7]

What the cited sources add

The "Daddy's Dinner Bucket" account states that Parton's 2023 Rockstar album brought the biggest-selling first-week sales of her seven-decade career.[8] The same source notes that she launched her own TV show Dolly in 1976.[8] Gullion's article confirms that the cabin at Dollywood is a replica designed by Parton's brother Bobby.[3] The same article states that Parton sentimentally bought back the original land and restored the home to its 1950s state.[3]
