Report

In Race B, the Maserati 250F that had carried Stirling Moss to victory at the 1956 Monaco Grand Prix was entered for Peter Heuberger, though he never took the start. Duncan Dayton and Joaquín Folch-Rusiñol were battling until Folch-Rusiñol dropped out, leaving Barrie Baxter and Tony Smith to fight it out for second place. Race C saw Moss make his seventh and final competitive appearance at the event, this time behind the wheel of a Frazer Nash. He later wrote in Motor Sport about how much the circuit had evolved since his first visit and voiced some disappointment over the more relaxed track limits.

Fifth place in that race was a tight contest between Michael Willms in a powerful Ferrari 340 America and Simon Diffey in a nimble Cooper T21, with their best laps differing by just 0.028 seconds. The year 2008 marked the fiftieth anniversary of Formula Junior, a category launched in 1958 to nurture new talent, whose annual Monaco support race had become a prestigious showcase for young drivers. Formula Junior also became the basis for the first historic motorsport series in 1975.

Race D celebrated the very first Formula Junior race at Monaco, which took place in 1959 and was won by Michael May. Tony Goodwin, who had finished twelfth in the 1964 Monaco Formula Three race, qualified on pole and ended up second. Jean Guittard made his debut at the Historic Grand Prix of Monaco in this race; he would later compete under the alias "Mister John of B." In Race F, a Ferrari 312 that Chris Amon had driven during the 1968 Formula One season was entered.

It had been bought and restored specifically for this event, believed to be its first competitive outing since 1969. Frank Sytner qualified fourth and held that position for most of the race but retired two laps from the finish. Hamish Sommerville was running fifth but dropped out after seven laps.
