Ghost Whisperer (video game)

Based on the CBS show of the same name, *Ghost Whisperer* is a casual hidden-object mystery adventure game from Legacy Games, available on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS. Players take on the role of Melinda Gordon, a woman who can see and talk to ghosts. The game features two separate cases: "Forgotten Toys" and "A Brush with Death."

In "Forgotten Toys," an elderly toy company owner has been left alone in his mansion with only a ghost for company. Melinda must communicate with the spirit to solve the mystery. The second case, "A Brush with Death," sends Melinda and her friend Delia Banks to the Grandview art museum to investigate a haunted painting on loan. A wealthy local family is experiencing strange ghostly problems that only Melinda can resolve.

Melinda, played by Jennifer Love Hewitt, owns an antique shop in the small town of Grandview, New York. Her special ability allows her to see and communicate with souls trapped between worlds due to unfinished business, and she helps them find peace and cross over. Her husband, Jim Clancy (David Conrad), is a paramedic who met Melinda when he rescued her from a burning apartment. He has long known about her gift and supports her. Eli James (Jamie Kennedy) is a teacher at Rockland University who gained the ability to hear ghosts after a near-death experience from a car accident. Unlike Melinda, he cannot see them, but he assists her anyway. Delia Banks (Camryn Manheim) is Melinda’s best friend and works as a schoolteacher. Though once skeptical of Melinda’s abilities, she now understands and frequently helps.

As a hidden-object game, the player takes on Melinda’s role to solve paranormal mysteries across the two cases. Each case has its own storyline. Progress is blocked by obstacles that must be cleared, either by finding and using items or by solving puzzles. Overcoming these challenges reveals more of the story, leading to a final, surprising resolution.
