Choice of music

Tim Timebomb and Friends is a project where Tim Armstrong shares recordings of songs he made with collaborators. He calls himself a music nerd with tastes ranging from Bob Dylan and the Ramones to Jimmy Cliff and Cock Sparrer. The group records both cover songs and original material. The lineup includes all of his Rancid bandmates, plus Ryan Foltz from Dropkick Murphys, Travis Barker, and members of The Interrupters and The Ohio Ramblers. Three tracks—"That's Just The Way It Is Now", "I'm Real", and "No More Living"—were written by Armstrong in 2007 during a trip to Spain. They were inspired by the 1964 Vincent Price film The Last Man on Earth, which itself was based on the 1954 novel I Am Legend.

Tim Armstrong sings lead on every track of Tim Timebomb Sings RocknRoll Theater, a change from the film versions where actors like Lars Frederiksen and Davey Havok handled vocals. The album collects songs from the RockNRoll Theatre film series, which Armstrong also produces. Fourteen tracks appear on the album, with thirteen of them also issued as digital singles. All songs were written by Armstrong.

The track list includes "We Did Alright," "Guardian Angel," "No Reverence," "Honor Is All We Know," "Just for Tonight," "Change That Song Mr. DJ," "Running Out of Time," "Skeleton Crew," "This Time We Got It Right," "Everything I Need," "Oh Hollywood," "No More Living," "Let's Fuck," and "Misconceptions." Between 2013 and 2014, Pirates Press Records put out three 7" singles: "She's Drunk All The Time" b/w "Tulare," "30 Pieces of Silver" b/w "Ooh La La," and "Change That Song Mr. DJ" b/w "Guardian Angel."

Three twelve-song collections drawn from these singles were released as CD and vinyl bundle packs: High Noon in a Dark Blue Sea, Honor Is All We Know, and Change That Song Mr. DJ.
