Ben Daimio

An M11 agent and B.P.R.D. member who fights a jaguar curse within.

Ben Daimio is an M11 military agent and member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (B.P.R.D.) who, due to a supernatural encounter, can transform into a terrifying werejaguar when angered or in pain. He uses injections to suppress these transformations. Daniel Dae Kim portrays Daimio in the 2019 film, after Ed Skrein withdrew from the role upon discovering the character was Japanese-American in the comics, allowing an Asian actor to be cast instead.

Lore & Background

Daimio takes Hellboy and Alice Monaghan to M11 headquarters before secretly acquiring a special bullet to kill Hellboy. During the journey to Nimue's location at Pendleton, Daimio reveals to Alice that he was the sole survivor of a demonic jaguar attack. Later, at St Paul's Cathedral, Daimio aids Hellboy by fighting in his jaguar form against an empowered Gruagach. After Hellboy decapitates Nimue and tosses her head into Hell, Daimio discards the special bullet. Six months later, Daimio, Hellboy, and Alice raid the Oannes Society where they find the water tank of Abe Sapien.
