Adler's Appetite was formed in 2003 by former Slash's Snakepit guitarist Keri Kelli, initially under the name Suki Jones. The original lineup included drummer Steven Adler, Faster Pussycat guitarist Brent Muscat, former Ratt bassist Robbie Crane, and then-Ratt singer Jizzy Pearl. The band made its live debut in Kingman, Arizona in March 2003, performing songs from Guns N' Roses albums as well as covers of AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, and Queen. They renamed the band Adler's Appetite in June 2003, after Adler and the Appetite for Destruction album.

The band released the Adler's Appetite EP in January 2005, featuring four original songs and covers of Thin Lizzy and Aerosmith. A legal dispute arose in 2005 when Adler announced a new lineup without Kelli, Crane, and Pearl; the three threatened legal action, claiming they were founding partners who had not quit. Despite this, the band continued with various lineups, including singers Sheldon Tarsha, Colby Veil, and Rick Stitch, and guitarists Michael Thomas, Kristy Majors, and Alex Grossi. They released the singles 'Alive,' 'Stardog,' and 'Fading' in 2010. The band dissolved after a European tour, with Adler and guitarist Lonnie Paul forming a new band called 'Adler.'
