Adler (band)
American hard rock supergroup formed by Steven Adler in 2012.
Adler was a short-lived American hard rock supergroup based in Los Angeles, California. It was put together in 2012 by Steven Adler, the former drummer for Guns N' Roses, after his earlier project Adler's Appetite fell apart. The lineup included vocalist and guitarist Jacob Bunton (then of Lynam and formerly of Mars Electric), guitarist Lonny Paul (also later with Lynam), and L.A. Guns bassist Johnny Martin.
The band released a single album, *Back from the Dead*, on November 26, 2012, through New Ocean Media. Producer Jeff Pilson was described by Bunton as a de facto fifth member who helped shape the songs and brought the same passion to the studio that he had as a performer. Adler stated his ambition was to lead the group into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame within 25 years, comparing the band to long-running acts like the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, and Rush.
A U.S. tour began in early 2013, with a European leg planned for the fall, but those plans were cut short when Adler entered rehab in May 2013, putting the band on hiatus. The group resumed activity in 2015, playing a U.S. tour that summer, and performed at the M3 festival and the Monsters of Rock West Coast Cruise in 2016. Those shows turned out to be their last; in February 2017, Adler confirmed the band had ended because he lost interest in playing concerts with small crowds. He later launched a solo project in 2019 with a completely new set of musicians.
