The Society of the Blind Eye is a secret group founded by Fiddleford "Old Man" McGucket to shield the people of Gravity Falls from the town's monsters and anomalies by making them forget they exist.

Lore & Background
McGucket built a memory-erasing machine after a glimpse through Stanford Pines' trans-dimensional portal horrified him, and he went on to found the Society. Using the machine on himself again and again eventually drove him mad. In the episode "Society of the Blind Eye" Dipper and Mabel find the machine and the townspeople's stored memories, and McGucket gets his sanity back. Members seen in the show include Bud Gleeful, Gideon's father, and the journalist Toby Determined.
