Rod Higgins

Rod Higgins is an American former professional basketball player who played 13 seasons in the NBA and later served as president of basketball operations for the Charlotte Hornets.

Higgins played for the Chicago Bulls, Seattle SuperSonics, San Antonio Spurs, New Jersey Nets, Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, and Cleveland Cavaliers. He averaged 9.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in his NBA career. He also played for the Tampa Bay Thrillers of the CBA during the 1985–86 season and won the CBA championship, earning CBA Playoff/Finals MVP. After playing, he served as an assistant coach with the Warriors until 2000, then as assistant general manager of the Washington Wizards. He was re-hired by the Warriors on May 20, 2004. On May 31, 2007, he was hired as general manager of the Charlotte Bobcats, later becoming president of basketball operations. He stepped down on June 13, 2014.
