History

The band was formed in 2012 by guitarist Marvin Bruckwilder, bassist Julian Englisch, and drummer Jonas Baier under the name Burning Down Alaska. A second guitarist, Dario Sanchez, joined at the start of 2013, and vocalist Tobias Rische was added near the end of that year. On February 18, 2015, the band signed with Redfield Records and released their debut EP Values & Virtues within a month; the track 'Phantoms' featured Michael McGough of Being as an Ocean. The group then toured Central Europe with Kingdom of Giants, followed by appearances with The Ghost Inside and Parkway Drive, as well as performances at Impericon Festival in Leipzig, Mair1 Festival, and Full Force. In November 2015 they opened the Never Say Die! Tour alongside Fit for a King, Cruel Hand, Being as an Ocean, Defeater, and The Amity Affliction. In March 2016 they toured Europe with Acres and Casey, and in May completed their first headlining tour in Japan with Sailing Before The Wind. During the same year, Kassim Auale joined as an additional vocalist, and Jonas Baier left, replaced by drummer Tobias Lotze. On March 29, 2017, the band changed its name to Alazka and signed with SharpTone Records and Arising Empire. They released their first album Phoenix that year and headlined the Phoenix tour across Europe. On October 4, 2019, the single 'Dead End' was released. Afterward, Kassim and Dario departed. In September 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the band dissolved. In 2022, ex-guitarist Marvin Bruckwilder, now known as Marv Wilder, formed the duo FLOYA with former Time, The Valuator frontman Phil Bayer.
