History
The band was founded in 2007 in Halle, Saxony-Anhalt. In 2008 and 2009 they released two demo CDs: My Ticket to Reno and The Point You Will Still Miss. Their first official EP, You, Always, was produced and released in 2010 as a CD and download. The band recorded a cover of Lady Gaga's "Telephone" but never officially released it. On 2 September 2012 a music video for the song "Sky" appeared, serving as a single for the debut album The Lucid Dream[er], which came out on 1 October 2012. That album was mastered by Joey Sturgis, who had worked with We Came as Romans, Emmure, and Asking Alexandria, and was produced by Christoph Wieczorek at Sawdust Recordings and by Aljosha Sieg at Pitchback Studios. From its early days the band toured with acts such as Upon This Dawning, Intohimo, Broadway, and His Statue Falls. In 2013 Annisokay signed with Radtone Music for a Japanese release of the album. On 28 June 2013 they played Mair1 Festival in Montabaur alongside Boysetsfire, Deez Nuts, Silent Screams, and Bury Your Dead. In January 2014 they joined the We Are the Mess Tour headlined by Electric Callboy, visiting Cologne, Berlin, Munich, and Hamburg. Shortly before that tour, the band announced plans to travel to the USA in 2014 to work with Joey Sturgis on their second record. On 20 April 2014 they signed with SPV GmbH, which re-released The Lucid Dream[er] in Central Europe and North America with bonus material. In June 2014 they supported Silverstein on several German dates. That summer they played Summer Breeze Open Air and Vainstream Rockfest for the first time. In February and March 2015, Annisokay and Vitja supported Callejon on the Wir sind Angst tour. Their second studio album, Enigmatic Smile, was officially released on 20 March 2015 and charted at number 68 on the German albums chart.
