Did You Know?
- Danger Theatre was syndicated outside the US, airing in the UK on the BBC in 1994.
- In four episodes, the other segment was called "Tropical Punch", a send-up of Hawaii Five-O starring Adam West as Detective Morgan.
- The segment "Tropical Punch" featured Billy Morrisette as McCormick, Morgan's partner who constantly saves him from failure.
The Searcher
One segment in each episode centered on a motorbike-riding, leather-clad hero called only "The Searcher", played by Diedrich Bader. It spoofed the stereotypical motorbiking renegade and "one man on a mission" series such as Knight Rider and Renegade. The Searcher would appear over the horizon on his motorcycle with a dramatic backing chorus, and a recurring visual gag had him squashed by a vehicle or falling object after a quizzical stare at the camera. The segment's popularity led to two episodes—"Go Ahead, Fry Me" and "An Old Friend for Dinner"—being given over entirely to a 30-minute Searcher adventure.
357 Marina del Rey
The final telecast of Danger Theatre on August 22, 1993, included a segment titled "357 Marina del Rey" in place of "Tropical Punch". It starred Todd Field as Rake Rowe and Ricky Harris as Clay Gentry, spoofing private detective shows set in vacation locales like 77 Sunset Strip and Hawaiian Eye. The characters, recent college graduates turned private investigators, were more interested in fashion and visiting a cappuccino bar than solving crimes. Only one episode of this segment was produced.
