Classroom 6

Classroom 6, a 2015 American found footage horror feature, was written and directed by Jonas Odenheimer. Its story follows a reporter who brings a television crew to an old college building to look into why a professor and his student vanished from a room believed to be haunted. The film was distributed by 108 Media and became available on several video on demand services—including Amazon Instant, iTunes, Google Play, and VUDU—on October 9, 2015. It was also shown at the 2015 Beloit International Film Festival, where it earned a nomination for Best Feature Film.

The script for the film was finished in September 2012, and shooting occurred that December. Production wrapped in under 48 hours, spread across three days. With a budget of only $5,000, costs stayed low because most of the filming took place inside the school. Editing took more than a year, and a final print was ready by early 2014.

The cast includes Valentina Kolaric as Annie Monroe, Mike McLaughlin as Jack Dogget, Maurice Mejia as Dan, Vince Major as Kurt, Victor Manso as Gaston, Jessica Amal Rice as Amanda, Paul Thomas Arnold as Dean Michael Keaton, Craig Cranic as Stephen Ellis, and Matt Poe as Brent Davis.

Critical reception was largely negative. Reviewers generally agreed that the movie borrows heavily from other works and reveals its conclusion in the opening scenes. Infernal Cinema noted that while the ending is somewhat reminiscent of REC, it is unfortunate the film did not borrow more from that classic earlier. Horror Cult Films gave it one star out of five, calling it a checklist of what to expect from low-budget supernatural movies. Dread Central also awarded one star out of five. In contrast, Found Footage Critic offered a positive review, describing Classroom 6 as an entertaining, interesting, and occasionally scary found footage film that builds on classic techniques while maintaining a fresh, unique look and feel.
