Peter Green, the founder and original lead guitarist of Fleetwood Mac in the late 1960s, released a handful of solo albums between 1970 and 1983, beginning with *The End of the Game*. After a quiet period, he returned to prominence in the late 1990s as the frontman of the Peter Green Splinter Group, which issued seven albums from 1997 to 2003.
His solo albums include *In the Skies* (1979), *Little Dreamer* (1980), *Whatcha Gonna Do?* (1981), *White Sky* (1982), and *Kolors* (1983). A dozen singles appeared between 1971 and 1983, among them “Heavy Heart,” “Beasts of Burden” (with Nigel Watson), and “Apostle.” Numerous compilations have been released, starting with *Blue Guitar* in 1981 and continuing through *The Anthology* in 2008.
Green also played on many recordings by other artists. He contributed to sessions for John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers (including *A Hard Road*), Fleetwood Mac (the albums *Fleetwood Mac*, *Mr. Wonderful*, and *Then Play On*, plus singles such as “Albatross” and “Oh Well”), and guests such as B.B. King, Otis Spann, Duster Bennett, and Peter Gabriel. His work appears on releases by Peter B’s Looners, Eddie Boyd, Jeremy Spencer, and the SAS Band, among others. He was also a member of the band Katmandu, which issued *A Case for the Blues* in 1985.
