Danny Kirwan joined Fleetwood Mac in 1968 and remained with the band until 1972. During his tenure, he played on albums such as Then Play On, Kiln House, Future Games, and Bare Trees, and contributed to singles including 'Albatross', 'Man of the World', 'Oh Well', and 'The Green Manalishi'. He also appeared on the live album Fleetwood Mac in Chicago/Blues Jam in Chicago, Vols. 1–2.

After leaving Fleetwood Mac, Kirwan launched a solo career with the label DJM. He released three albums: Second Chapter (1975), Midnight in San Juan (1976, released in the US as Danny Kirwan), and Hello There Big Boy! (1979). He also issued multiple singles, some of which were taken from these albums, including 'Ram Jam City', 'Misty River', and 'Only You'. A demo album titled Ram Jam City was released in 2000, containing tracks recorded in the mid-1970s for the Second Chapter album.
