Nanto Dojo
A fan concept—no canonical dojo united the independent Nanto masters of the Seven Stars.
The Nanto Dojo is a misnomer in the canon—there is no established collective training ground or institution for Nanto Seiken under a single master. The legendary Nanto Seiken was founded by the original master known as 'Nanto no Ken,' not by Rei. Rei is a later master of Nanto Suichoken, one of the Nanto Seiken styles, and the Seven Stars of South are six independent Nanto masters (including Rei, Shuren, Yuda, etc.) plus one other, none of whom were trained by Rei. The concept of a unified dojo serving as a spiritual home or philosophical counterpoint to Hokuto Ryuken is a fan invention; in reality, the Nanto masters were scattered individuals with no central training ground.

Lore & Background
In the canonical Fist of the North Star setting, there is no Nanto Dojo as a physical or institutional entity. The Nanto Seiken martial art was founded by the legendary master 'Nanto no Ken,' and later branched into various styles such as Nanto Suichoken (Rei), Nanto Goshasei (Shuren), and Nanto Koshuken (Yuda). These masters were independent, not students of a single dojo. Toki never trained in Nanto; his Hokuto Ujoken is a derivative of Hokuto Shinken, created by Toki himself, with no relation to Nanto Seiken. Jagi, a failed Hokuto Shinken student, adopted a sawed-off shotgun and some Nanto techniques but was never a Nanto disciple or member of the Seven Stars of South. The Seven Stars of South consist solely of Nanto masters (including Rei, Shuren, Yuda, and others), with no inclusion of Hokuto practitioners.
Reader's Guide
The Nanto Dojo serves as the historical heart of the Southern Fist martial arts tradition within the post-apocalyptic wasteland. Unlike the solitary path of Hokuto, this institution emphasized a collective lineage under Master Rei, cultivating seven distinct disciples who each mastered a unique style representing different elements and philosophies. In the early days before the Great War consumed civilization, these grounds were a sanctuary where warriors learned to protect life through fluid techniques rather than the lethal pressure points favored by their northern counterparts. However, as nuclear fire ravaged the earth, the Dojo could not survive intact. The institution effectively dissolved once Master Rei passed and his students were forced to scatter across the broken world to survive the chaos. While no single physical structure remains standing in the main timeline of Kenshiro's journey, the legacy of this training ground defines the identities of the Seven Stars of South. Understanding this origin is crucial for fans, as it explains why characters like Jagi and Rei operate with such contrasting motivations despite sharing a master.
