Lore & Background
Ryoma is a member of the Hoshidan royal family. He is one of Corrin's three adoptive siblings, along with Takumi, Hinoka, and Sakura. The story follows the Avatar, named Corrin by default, who was captured by Nohr at a young age but returns to Hoshido, their birthplace. Ryoma wields the Raijinto katana, one of the Legendary Weapons of Hoshido. The overarching plot involves a war between Hoshido and Nohr, orchestrated by Anankos, the dragon deity ruler of Valla who resides under the Bottomless Canyon separating the two nations. While Ryoma fights for his kingdom, the true mastermind behind the conflict is revealed to be Anankos, whose growing power corrupted him after he went mad and killed Valla's king.
Reader's Guide
Ryoma is a Hoshidan royal family member who wields the Raijinto katana. He appears alongside his siblings Takumi, Hinoka, and Sakura in Fire Emblem Fates. As part of the Hoshidan forces, he fights against Nohr in the Birthright route or potentially joins Corrin in Revelation to oppose Anankos. The game features different gameplay styles depending on the version: Birthright offers opportunities for extra gold and experience similar to Awakening, while Conquest provides limited resources and varied objectives. Ryoma's class is not explicitly detailed beyond being part of the royal family, but he utilizes the unique Dragon Vein ability shared by members of each kingdom's royalty to alter map environments. He can be recruited if Corrin chooses the Hoshidan side or in Revelation.
