FIFA Heroes
Arcade five-a-side football with mascots and super abilities.
Last updated
FIFA Heroes is an arcade-style video game developed by ENVER Studio in partnership with FIFA. It is the first licensed game announced by FIFA since its agreement with EA Sports ended in 2022.
Gameplay
FIFA Heroes is a five-a-side arcade-style football game where teams consist of international football personalities, fictional characters, and FIFA's official mascots, including those created for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The game emphasizes fast-paced, exaggerated action rather than simulation. Each mascot and character has unique super abilities and special moves, and matches feature dynamic physics and pitch-altering power attacks.
Players can engage in quick arcade matches or structured PvE challenges to progress through career-style milestones. The roster includes current FIFA World Cup players such as Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, and Emiliano Martínez, historical legends like Diego Maradona, and mythological icons including Thor and Sun Wukong. In June 2026, iShowSpeed was announced as a playable character and cover star alongside Central Cee and Enzo Fernández.
The mobile version uses a progression system based on recurring challenges and randomized rewards called lockers, which contain heroes or shards for upgrades. In-game currencies are coins and gems; gems can be bought via microtransactions, while players earn rewards through matches, challenges, and optional advertisements. Lockers come in tiers, with higher tiers offering better chances of rare heroes.
Development
In October 2022, FIFA confirmed it would no longer grant an exclusive license to EA Sports after failing to agree on licensing fees, and announced plans to work with multiple third-party studios. In October 2025, FIFA announced FIFA Heroes, produced with Solace and developed by New York studio ENVER. In March 2026, Motorola announced that most new devices would come with the game pre-downloaded, with custom gameplay for the Razr fold and exclusive rewards for Motorola users.
The game was designed as an arcade-focused alternative to traditional football simulations, emphasizing accessibility and multiplayer. Game director Andy Tudor stated it includes squad-based play where users control individual positions, private matches, and a 1v1 mode, with elements from MOBA games such as positional awareness, cooldown-based abilities, and team composition. ENVER CEO Kyle Joyce said the project aimed to appeal to younger audiences less engaged with simulation titles, drawing inspiration from arcade sports games like FIFA Street and NBA Street, and using a live-service model influenced by Fortnite.
