FIFA Street 3
Arcade street football with exaggerated player styles and interactive environments.
Last updated
FIFA Street 3, an arcade-style sports title, launched on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo DS. It was the third installment in the FIFA Street series under the EA Sports BIG label, and it marked the final game to carry that sub-brand. A later reboot in 2012 used the standard EA Sports name instead.
Gameplay
The game emphasizes arcade-style fun and street football tricks rather than real-life simulation. It features more than 250 players from 18 international teams, each identified by unique moves and signature styles. Exotic locations and interactive environments immerse gamers in a hyper-real world where players run up walls, environments pulsate to music, and surroundings explode with each goal or trick.
Development
EA Sports BIG, the division responsible for SSX, NBA Street, NFL Street, and the FIFA Street games, developed the title. Electronic Arts confirmed a third FIFA Street game for next-generation consoles to be released in 2008. A demo was released on 17 January 2008 on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Store. The cover features Ronaldinho, Peter Crouch, and Gennaro Gattuso; producer Joe Nickolls stated these players represent three of the different player types—Tricksters, Playmakers, Finishers, and Enforcers—and were chosen to create larger-than-life characters.
