James Moriarty
The Archer of Shinjuku, and Holmes's rival.
James Moriarty is the main antagonist of the Shinjuku Singularity of 1999, an Archer-class Servant called the Archer of Shinjuku. He is a composite Servant: the demon pillar Baal fused his Saint Graph with the phantom spirit Max the Freeshooter, so he never misses.

Lore & Background
He and Baal planned to destroy the world by loading an asteroid into the Barrel Tower and firing it into the planet's core. Baal erased Moriarty's memories and gave him good ones, so he first appears saving Ritsuka and helping with the city's troubles. When the plan is exposed and stopped, he admits defeat, realising his memories with Ritsuka held him back. A younger Ruler-class Moriarty, summoned by the Foreign World, appears in Traum, where he exposes Sherlock Holmes as an apostle of the Foreign God and kills him in their duel at Reichenbach Falls before Ritsuka and Mash defeat him.
