Get the Water Chip

The main quest of the original Fallout begins when the Water Chip, the computer component that runs Vault 13's water recycling and pumping machinery, stops working. The player character, the Vault Dweller, is sent out into the wasteland to find a replacement chip for the underground shelter. The search brings them into contact with the factions of post-war California, including the Brotherhood of Steel, the Children of the Cathedral and the Super Mutants led by the Master.
