Genesis of the Angel Cartel

Lore & Background

Their mythology is steeped in the belief that they are the guardians—or perhaps the thieves—of the 'Old World' knowledge. Unlike the Gallente's pursuit of liberty or the Amarr's religious dogma, the Angels operate on a philosophy of absolute pragmatism and profit. They claim and exercise de facto sovereignty over their territory, controlling it through military force and infrastructure, not merely economic dominance and fear. This has made them both feared and indispensable, as no faction dares ignore their presence when seeking forbidden knowledge or advanced weaponry.

Reader's Guide

The deep history of the Angel Cartel is woven into the very fabric of New Eden's mythos. Long before the current empires rose to power, rumors spoke of a group that navigated the treacherous wormholes and ancient ruins with uncanny precision. Religious beliefs within the Cartel are non-existent in the traditional sense; instead, they worship the concept of 'The Transaction.' To them, every piece of information has a price, and every secret is a commodity waiting to be sold.

This philosophy allows them to remain neutral in the endless wars that plague New Eden. Archaeological discoveries often lead back to Angel involvement. Excavations of ancient sites frequently yield artifacts that vanish into Angel Space, only to reappear years later on the black market. These relics are believed to hold the keys to understanding the pre-human civilization that once thrived here, making the Angels the keepers of New Eden's most dangerous truths.
