The Prague Lions were founded in 1991 and began play in the Czech League of American Football in 1994, where they won the Czech Bowl six times: 1998, 2004–2006, 2019, and 2022. In 2023, they joined the European League of Football (ELF) after reorganizing into a franchise, with Michal Kozlíček promoted to president and Zach Harrod retained as head coach. The team maintained a development team in the Czech league.

In the 2025 ELF season, after a 1–11 record the previous year, the Lions hired Dave Warner as head coach. They signed quarterback Javarian Smith and other players, including wide receiver Willie Patterson. The Lions achieved their first winning record in ELF history, finishing 7–5, but missed the playoffs due to an eighth-place rank.
