UEFA coefficient and ranking

For the 2023–24 UEFA competitions, association places are allocated according to the 2022 UEFA country coefficients, which reflect performance from 2017–18 to 2021–22. Serbia's coefficient points total for that ranking is 33.375. After earning 9.500 points in the 2020–21 European campaign, Serbia rose to the 11th best association out of 54.

Competitions

UEFA expelled Partizan from the 2007–08 UEFA Cup after crowd trouble at their away tie in Mostar interrupted the match for 10 minutes; UEFA blamed travelling Partizan fans. Partizan were allowed to play the return leg pending appeal, but the appeal was rejected, so Zrinjski Mostar qualified. In other play-off matches, Belgrade XI and Red Star Belgrade each progressed to the quarter-finals, while Juventus and Lokomotiv Plovdiv advanced to the second round.
