In 2012, he signed for Eintracht Frankfurt for a fee of €1.5 million and played regularly over three years, also competing in the UEFA Europa League. In Their Own Story

The 2014–15 season at Eintracht Frankfurt was a test of resilience for Kevin Trapp. After being named captain by manager Thomas Schaaf, he started the campaign strongly, helping the side earn two wins and four draws. But during a 2–2 draw against Mainz 05 on 24 September 2014, he suffered an ankle injury in the final minutes that sidelined him for four months. It wasn't until 31 January 2015 that he returned to the starting lineup against Freiburg, though Frankfurt lost 4–1. Despite the setback, he resumed his captain role and his place as first-choice goalkeeper. On 2 March 2015, he signed a three-year contract with the club, keeping him until 2019. He finished the season with 23 appearances in all competitions, before moving to Paris Saint-Germain that summer.
