Eintracht Frankfurt e.V. is a German professional sports club based in Frankfurt, Hesse. It is best known for its football club, which was founded on 8 March 1899. The club currently plays in the Bundesliga, the top tier of the German football league system. Eintracht have won the German championship once, the DFB-Pokal five times, the UEFA Europa League twice and finished as runner-up in the European Cup once.

The club's origins go back to Frankfurter Fußball-Club Victoria von 1899 and Frankfurter Fußball-Club Kickers von 1899, which merged in May 1911 to become Frankfurter Fußball Verein (Kickers-Victoria). That club joined Frankfurter Turngemeinde von 1861 to form TuS Eintracht Frankfurt von 1861 in 1920. The gymnasts and footballers separated in 1927. Eintracht won local and regional championships in the late 1920s and 1930s, reached the German final in 1932 (lost 2–0 to Bayern Munich), and won the Gauliga Südwest in 1938.
After World War II, they joined the Oberliga Süd, winning the Hessenpokal in 1946 and the Oberliga Süd title in 1953. Under coach Paul Oßwald, they won the German championship in 1959, beating Kickers Offenbach 5–3 after extra time. As champions, they reached the 1959–60 European Cup final, losing 7–3 to Real Madrid. Eintracht were founding members of the Bundesliga in 1963, finishing 3rd in the inaugural season.
They won the 1967 Intertoto Cup and reached the 1967–68 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup semi-final. From 1973 to 1981, they won three DFB-Pokals (1973–74, 1975, and another) and the UEFA Cup (1979–80).
