Lore & Background
Born from the chaos of the Burning Hells, this legion is the physical manifestation of the Prime Evils' will. It consists of countless lesser demons, Greater Demons like Andariel or Azmodan's forces (when aligned), and the twisted Legions that march under the banner of Hell itself. The Legion thrives on fear and despair, feeding on the souls they harvest to fuel their endless war against the High Heavens and the mortal world of Sanctuary. Their existence is a constant reminder that evil is not merely an action but a living, breathing entity waiting to break free from its chains.
Reader's Guide
The Legion's primary goal is the total subjugation of Sanctuary to harvest souls for the Prime Evils' ascension. Their leadership structure is a hierarchy of terror, with the three Prime Evils at the apex, followed by Greater Demons who command specific aspects of warfare or corruption. Historically, the Legion has launched multiple invasions, most notably during the events surrounding the first and second generations of the Horadrim. These incursions have shaped human history, forcing mortals to unite against impossible odds and forging legendary heroes like the Nephalem. The impact of the Legion is profound; every time they breach Sanctuary, they leave behind scars on the land and the psyche of its inhabitants. Their presence corrupts nature, twists minds, and resurrects ancient evils. Despite repeated defeats by mortal champions, the Legion remains a cyclical threat, proving that as long as hatred exists in the universe, their ranks will never truly be broken.
