Background
In 1983, Andrew Ridgeley of Wham! realized there were legal issues with the duo's original Innervision contract. During the dispute, the label put out a single called "Club Fantastic Megamix," a medley of non-single tracks from the album Fantastic. Wham! told fans not to buy it. Innervision later acknowledged royalty problems with Wham!'s contract, and CBS Records helped broker a legal settlement that voided the deal. The lawsuit's aftermath bankrupted Innervision, and the label shut down in 1985.
