Background
AM:PM Records was the UK dance imprint of A&M Records, active from 1994 to 1998. Simon Dunmore handled A&R for the label. After PolyGram, A&M's parent company, merged with Universal Music Group in 1998, operations paused when Dunmore left to co-found Defected Records with two other staff members. Later that year, the label moved under Island Records, with Dave Lambert from Positiva Records taking over. AM:PM shut down in 2002 after a Universal restructuring by Lucian Grange, merging into sister label Serious. The same shake-up also folded Manifesto Records and closed the Universal TV dance label Wonderboy.
